News Express : ▲According to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers(CAAM),automobile industry in 2016 maintained a stable and rapid development. Output of automobile in 2016 reached 28,119,000 units, increasing by 14.5% compared with last year. Sales of automobile reached 28,028,000 units, increasing by 13.7% compared with last year. ▲Statistics of China’s customs showed NR and SR (including latex) imports for December 2016 reached 730,000 tons, making the total import amount from January to December 5,810,000 tons, an increase of 23.1%, compared with 4,720,000 tons of last year; while the import value increased by 18.8% compared with last year. Up to the end-December, rubber inventory in Qingdao Free Trade Port Zone decreased to 105,200 tons, including 78,400 tons of NR, 4,500 tons of compound rubber, and 22,300 tons of SR. The overall NR inventories continue to increase, but SR inventories declined rapidly. ▲National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has released the survey on the performance of chemical industry for November 2016. The value added for chemical industry in November increased by 5.6% compared with last year, but the growth rate dropped by 2.2%. Of the major products manufactured, there were 4,980,000 tons of synthetic rubber, an increase of 8.5%, 41,460,000 tons of synthetic fiber, an increase of 3.6%, and 86,072,000 units of tires, an increase of 7.6%. ▲According to the Ministry of Transport of China, the anticipated passenger capacity of nationwide highway in November 2016 reached 14,243,000,000 units, decreasing by 4.7% compared with last year; the anticipated passenger turnover reached 949,000,000,000 units per kilometer, decreasing by 5% compared with last year. The anticipated volume of freight traffic in August reached 30,266,000,000 tons, increasing by 5.7% compared to last year; anticipated turnover of freight traffic reached 5,525,730,000,000 tons per kilometer, increasing by 5.1% compared with last year.
▲In 2016, China rubber industrial raw materials prices rose significantly. The price of NR was 9760 RMB and 16380 RMB per ton respectively at the beginning and end of the year, increasing by 67.83% for the year. China is the world's largest producer of carbon black with an annual production capacity of nearly 7 million tons, accounting for 42% of the world.
